AIE’S PROPOSED POWER STATION SHORTLISTED FOR KEY COMMONWEALTH ENERGY INVESTMENT PROGRAM
The Federal Government has announced AIE’s proposal to construct an 800MW gas-fired power station in the Illawarra is one of 12 projects shortlisted for its Underwriting New Generation Investments program.
The program is designed to help deliver affordable and reliable power by supporting a number of energy generation initiatives. The 12 shortlisted projects were selected from a total of 66 proposals received from all over Australia.
AIE plans to use natural gas from its proposed Port Kembla Gas Terminal to fuel the Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power station.
